Overview

University Canada West (UCAN) is an accessible, private sector university situated in Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Victoria Campus is located at 950 Kings Road, Quadra Village and the Vancouver Campus is located at 1111 Melville Street. 

UCAN delivers degrees in the faculties of Arts and Science and Business and Management under the authority of the Government of British Columbia's Degree Quality Assessment Board. The university uses a mixed model of residency and Internet enhanced programming. At the undergraduate level programs are delivered by the Internet or face-to-face depending on the which program option a student chooses.

English Proficiency Requirement

All courses at UCAN are taught in English. If English is not your first language, the University requires proof that you will be able to understand and learn in your degree program.

Mature Student

Applications to UCAN can be made under mature student status. To qualify as mature students, you must meet the following:

• have been out of school at least two years;
• be at least 21 years old by the first day of classes;
• have demonstrated the potential for success through academic, professional or volunteer activities and other accomplishments.

Note: Meeting the mature student criteria does not guarantee admission to the university. Each applicant is reviewed annually. If you are admitted as a Mature student you must achieve at least a 60% overall average in your first term to be eligible to register for the second term.
