About the Lesson Plans
The lesson plans in Education Planner are designed to be used with both secondary school students and adult learners. These lesson plans have been influenced by the Instructional Skills Workshop, and the Provincial Instructors Diploma for Post-Secondary Education. Each lesson plan uses cooperative learning strategies with an emphasis on active learning.
Educational planning is a skill that is needed at various times throughout one's life and as a result it is extremely important that students learn how to plan their educational paths as they move in and out of education and the workplace. Therefore, these lesson plans are designed to help students not only to find information about a particular program, but also to analyse, reflect on and evaluate the many educational opportunities that BC has to offer them throughout their lifetime.
It is difficult to make educational planning something that is taught prescriptively because, as we all have experienced, things change. Educational planning is most effective when taught from a developmental approach where self-exploration is shared and supported.
With this in mind, we would like to share our lesson plans with you and encourage you to modify them to best meet the needs of your individual learners. If you have any questions or comments please contact us.
