Emily Carr University of Art and Design
Overview

The Emily Carr University of Art and Design (EC) is situated on Granville Island in Vancouver. Its focus is to provide professional programs leading to four-year credentials in Art and Design studies.
The institute encourages applications from individuals with demonstrated ability in the visual arts and the motivation to develop that ability.
General Admission Requirements (All Students)
English Language Requirement - You must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for your desired program.
Portfolio Requirement - You must also meet First Year Foundation Portfolio requirements or transfer student portfolio requirements.

Mature Student
Non Matriculated Adult Applicants - This admission category is limited to residents of Canada who are at least 21 years old who have obtained at least a "C" grade in a senior level English literature course.
Special Note: If you have not completed your Secondary School Diploma it is strongly recommended that you enroll in Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses and complete the BC Adult Graduation Diploma (or equivalent).
Other Student (including Special Consideration)
Aboriginal Admissions Policy - Emily Carr is dedicated to providing access and support for all applicants and particularly underrepresented populations. The University will consider aboriginal applicants who do not meet the academic standing required for admission. Consideration for admission will be based on educational background, cultural knowledge, work experience, academic goals, personal achievements and current artistic portfolio.
